Members of this Sanggunian together with some its workforce and officials of the Sangguniang Kabataan Municipal Federation (SKMF) of Midsayap actively participated during the conduct of the ‘Bike for a Cause’ held on July 25, 2020 here.

Around 150 cyclists from the towns of Pikit, Pigcawayan, Alamada, Libungan, Midsayap, and Aleosan (PPALMA) participated to the said activity.  

Vice Mayor Manuel Rabara together with cyclists from Midsayap who are members of the PPALMA Federation of Cyclists in partnership with the Office of the Municipal Environmental and Natural Resources Officer of Midsayap LGU organized the said biking event. 

Bikers as Plantliners

Vice Mayor Rabara also led the participants in the tree-growing activity as part of the ‘Bike for a Cause’. Almost 200 seedlings of red narra and apitong trees were planted at the Sanitary Landfill Facility located at Barangay Kimagango, this Municipality. 

He also explained to the participants that these seedlings planted shall serve as a reminder of every human being’s role as steward of the environment.

Present also during the activity were Councilor Justine Clio Ostique, Member of the SB Committee on Environmental Protection, Housing and Land Utilization, and some of the working staff of the Sangguniang Bayan of Midsayap. 

Midsayap Youth for Environment

Councilor Mark Ferven Avance, President of the SK Municipal Federation of Midsayap, together with some SK Officials from various barangays, also supported the ‘Bike for a Cause’. 

The youth leader committed to monitor the seedlings planted at the said site. He also encouraged his fellow Midsayap youth to participate in various activities that aims to protect the environment despite the challenge caused by the coronavirus disease pandemic.
